#Transforming Artist:Unknown
“I saw Grandma
wearing a new dress,
looking through her mirror.
She moved
in soft, quiet veils-
colorful shades
spreading like wings,
the bones of her bodice
covered, in darkened lace.
“You will be the Belle
of the ball”, I said.
She smiled with love,
her heavy lids closing
as she stepped past-
the mirror.
She began to sway
shifting her feet back
and forth- until she
was gliding elegantly.
She danced into the ethers
that day-
the stars were shining
all around her
with vital radiance.
I can still feel the rhythm
of her footprints
in my heart.”
